About the position

The Outside Sales Representative at Lakewood Automation is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships while providing tailored automation solutions. This role emphasizes consultative selling and requires frequent travel to client sites in Northeast Ohio. The representative will work closely with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve sales targets, with the option of a base pay or commission-only salary structure.

Responsibilities

• Proactively seek out potential customers through cold calling.
• Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
• Present, promote and sell all products and services to existing and prospective customers.
• Become knowledgeable about our products and services to provide value-added solutions.
• Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within a required schedule.
• Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.
• Analyze the territory's potential, and track sales and status reports.
• Collaborate with vendor sales representatives via joint sales calls.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 4 or more years of outside sales experience is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated consultative selling ability.
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Basic MS Office proficiency is required.
• Valid and in good standing state driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in sales, marketing, communications, or mechanical engineering-related field, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• Industrial automation technical product knowledge is a plus but not required.
• CRM and ERP system experience is a plus but not required.
