About the position

The Residential Connectivity Outside Sales team at Spectrum is dedicated to connecting communities with essential broadband services. As a Residential Connectivity Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in this mission by engaging with potential customers through door-to-door solicitation. This position is designed for individuals who are goal-oriented, self-motivated, and possess a tenacious spirit. You will have the opportunity to achieve your financial and career goals while helping customers access state-of-the-art solutions, including Spectrum Internet®, TV, mobile, and voice services. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting proactive consultative needs analyses with prospective customers, developing and presenting tailored sales presentations, and accurately completing all necessary paperwork to support your sales activities. You will also be expected to stay informed about competitors' activities in your assigned territory and participate actively in team meetings and training programs. The position offers uncapped earning potential, allowing you to reap the rewards of your hard work and dedication. Flexibility is a key aspect of this role, as you will be working during evenings and weekends to maximize customer contact. You will spend approximately 90% of your time in an outside environment, which may include exposure to various weather conditions. This dynamic and interactive position requires a strong work ethic and a positive mindset, as you will be the face of Spectrum in your community, helping to power millions of gig-enabled households.

Responsibilities

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Acquire new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
  • Conduct proactive consultative needs analysis with new prospective customers.
  • Develop and present sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers' needs.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork to support sales activities in a manner consistent with quality control guidelines.
  • Achieve monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales.
  • Complete all administrative tasks related to products sold in accordance with department practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay informed about competitors' activities in assigned territory and inform manager of any changes.
  • Attend and successfully complete training programs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to listen, formulate needs-based sales strategies, and articulate pitches to sell products and services.
  • A passion to succeed and a strong personal drive to sell to prospective customers.
  • Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories using a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications as well as consumer and commercial communication devices.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • A valid driver's license, car insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and the use of a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Success in a previous sales position, prospecting, or cold calling; direct sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals.
