About the position

The Residential Connectivity Outside Sales team at Spectrum is dedicated to connecting communities with essential broadband services. As a Residential Connectivity Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in this mission by engaging with potential customers through door-to-door solicitation. This position is designed for individuals who are goal-oriented, self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic. You will have the opportunity to work independently, manage your own schedule, and achieve financial success through uncapped incentives and performance bonuses. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring new residential customers by conducting proactive needs analyses and presenting tailored sales proposals. You will also be expected to maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape in your assigned territory, ensuring that you can effectively communicate the benefits of Spectrum's services over those of competitors. Your success will be measured by your ability to meet monthly sales quotas across various products, including high-speed internet, mobile services, landline phones, and video services. The position requires a commitment to enhancing the customer experience, and you will be expected to participate actively in team meetings and training programs. Flexibility is key, as you will often work evenings and weekends to maximize customer contact. This role offers a unique blend of independence and support, allowing you to take ownership of your sales territory while benefiting from the resources and training provided by Spectrum.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Acquires new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
  • Conducts proactive consultative needs analysis with new prospective customers.
  • Develops and presents sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers' needs.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork to support sales activities, including dispositioning, entering sales orders, and reporting on sales.
  • Participates in all sales meetings and training programs as assigned.
  • Achieves monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales.
  • Completes all administrative tasks related to products sold in accordance with department practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Informs manager of any changing competitive pricing programs, marketing directives, or door-to-door sales tactics.
  • Attends and successfully completes training programs.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to listen, formulate needs-based sales strategies, and articulate pitches to sell products and services.
  • A passion to succeed and a strong personal drive to sell to prospective customers.
  • Ability to travel to and from assigned territories using a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications as well as consumer and commercial communication devices.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • A valid driver's license, car insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Success in a previous sales position, prospecting, or cold calling; direct sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals.
