The Outside Sales Representative at Security Solutions, Inc. is a pivotal role that requires a solid background in outside sales, particularly in the commercial fire system sector. This position is essential for driving company growth and enhancing the branch's brand presence in the installation and service areas for commercial customers. The representative will be responsible for establishing and nurturing strong customer relationships, which is crucial for understanding customer needs and promoting the company's products and services effectively. In this role, the representative will build and maintain a network of sources to identify new sales leads. They will engage with customers and potential clients to comprehend their product or service requirements, suggesting appropriate solutions. Educating potential customers about the available products and services is a key responsibility, as is demonstrating the functionality and utility of these offerings. Ensuring customer satisfaction is paramount, which involves ongoing communication and relationship management to resolve any issues that may arise after a sale. The representative will also maintain communication with existing and previous customers, keeping them informed about new products, services, and enhancements that may interest them. Detailed reporting of sales activities, including calls, orders, and any relationship problems with customers or vendors, is required. Additionally, the representative will provide periodic sales forecasts for their territory and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads
  • Communicates with customers and potential customers to understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services
  • Educates all potential customers on products and services available
  • Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale
  • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest
  • Maintains detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems
  • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts
  • Performs other duties assigned by management

Requirements

  • At least 1+ years of outside sales related experience required
  • High School / GED
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or related field preferred
  • Technical knowledge of fire and security industry, or ability and drive to learn a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exemplary sales and negotiation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of target market industries and strategies
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
