About the position

The Outside Sales Representative at CHS, Inc. is responsible for selling energy products and providing customer service within the Northwest Iowa and Southwest Minnesota territory. This role involves building relationships with customers, achieving retail sales goals, and supporting CHS cooperatives. The ideal candidate will work remotely from their home office, focusing on consultative sales and maintaining a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to achieve retail sales goals and execute sales.
• Identify opportunities to provide consultative services for businesses and customers.
• Utilize fundamental sales principles and practices to improve sales, marketing, and consulting skills.
• Develop customer lists to include current and prospective customers.
• Call on current and prospective customers, building relationships and promoting CHS products.
• Prepare basic and assist with moderate to complex bids and proposals.
• Develop or participate in the development of straightforward customer presentations.
• Obtain information on market and industry trends, competitors, and sales programs.
• Build customer relationships by providing proactive service and identifying customer needs.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Knowledge of Sales, Business Development, and/or Sales Business Operations
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
