About the position

The Residential Connectivity Outside Sales team at Spectrum is dedicated to connecting communities with essential broadband services. As a Residential Connectivity Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in this mission by engaging with potential customers through door-to-door solicitation. This position is designed for individuals who are goal-oriented, self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic. You will have the opportunity to work independently, manage your own schedule, and achieve financial success through uncapped incentives and performance bonuses. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring new residential customers by conducting proactive needs analyses and presenting tailored sales proposals. Your ability to simplify and enhance the customer experience will be key to your success. You will also be expected to stay informed about competitors' activities and participate actively in team meetings and training programs. The position requires a commitment to achieving monthly sales quotas across various services, including high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales. The work environment is dynamic and requires flexibility, as you will often work evenings and weekends to maximize customer contact. You will spend approximately 90% of your time in an outside environment, which may include exposure to inclement weather. Responsibilities

  • Actively supports efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Acquires new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
  • Conducts proactive consultative needs analysis with new prospective customers.
  • Develops and presents sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers' needs.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork to support sales activities, including dispositioning, entering sales orders, and reporting on sales.
  • Participates in all sales meetings and training programs as assigned.
  • Achieves monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales.
  • Completes all administrative tasks related to products sold in accordance with department practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Informs manager of any changing competitive pricing programs, marketing directives, or door-to-door sales tactics.
  • Attends and successfully completes training programs.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to listen, formulate needs-based sales strategies, and articulate pitches to sell products and services.
  • A passion to succeed and a strong personal drive to sell to prospective customers.
  • Ability to travel to and from assigned territories using a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications as well as consumer and commercial communication devices.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • A valid driver's license, car insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Success in a previous sales position, prospecting, or cold calling; direct sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals.
