About the position

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for all aspects of dry ice sales, which includes the distribution and application of equipment. This role is pivotal in ensuring customer satisfaction and involves maintaining relationships with current customers while actively seeking to develop new business opportunities. The representative will report directly to the Region Sales Manager, making it essential to align sales strategies with regional goals and objectives. In this position, the representative will be expected to maintain a high level of personal safety performance and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires a proactive approach to drive profitable growth within the assigned territory, which includes prospecting for new business opportunities and negotiating contracts for both new and existing accounts. Managing the existing business portfolio effectively to maximize gross profit is a key responsibility, along with providing first-line product and application support to customers and prospects. The representative will also coordinate and manage communication between customers and the company, ensuring that all sales activities are reported timely to sales management. Identifying cross-selling opportunities and collaborating with team members to enhance customer service is crucial. Additionally, the role may involve performing equipment demonstrations and utilizing value-based selling skills to achieve pricing initiatives. The position requires light work with travel expectations of up to 80%.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high level of personal safety performance and regulatory compliance.

  • Prospect for new business opportunities.
  • Negotiate new account and existing account contract renewals.
  • Manage existing business portfolio to maximize gross profit.
  • Provide first line product and application support to customers and prospects.
  • Coordinate and manage communication and support between Customer and CCPI.
  • Report sales activity timely to sales management.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and hand-off to other team members.
  • Support collections process, customer issues, and asset management as required.
  • Perform demonstrations as required for equipment.
  • Utilize value based selling skills.
  • Implement price attainment initiatives.

Requirements

  • College diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years of related experience and/or training required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, clients, vendors, managers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Valid Driver License in the state required.
