About the position

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating and pursuing leads, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and promoting and selling our welding and industrial gas products and services. The position primarily involves meeting with existing and prospective customers face-to-face and traveling to various customer locations within a designated territory. Your sales expertise will be crucial in driving profitability and achieving sales objectives within the organization. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will serve as a strategic partner to develop and sustain long-lasting relationships with customers through effective negotiation. You will identify sales strategies to meet targets that promote long-term profitability and develop and execute evidence-based sales plans to meet objectives. This role requires you to travel to businesses to conduct sales presentations and deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner to resolve client concerns. You will also maintain detailed records on key accounts within our customer relationship management system and present in-depth reports to the director of sales and other stakeholders as required. Additionally, you will conduct regular market research to stay updated on consumer needs, competitors' activities, and marketplace trends. Participation in industry events will be essential to refine your skills and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships. You will need to adapt quickly to changing conditions and understand the implications of key financial indicators, experimenting to find new solutions by evaluating the pros and cons, risks, and benefits of different options.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of Outside Sales experience and demonstrable experience as a territory account manager.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Industrial gas or welding experience is preferred.
  • Track record of exceeding sales goals successfully.
  • Uphold high standards of honesty and integrity.
  • Demonstrate personal ownership for safety and contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment where differences are valued and supported.
