About the position

The Outside Sales Representative at Trulite Glass and Aluminum Solutions is responsible for securing new business and managing existing sales within a designated territory that includes East Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Northern Delaware, and Northeast Maryland. This role emphasizes both customer maintenance and business development, requiring the representative to meet with clients, deliver presentations, negotiate deals, and prepare sales reports. The position demands adaptability to changing business environments and effective communication with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Hunt for new business (50%) and maintain existing customer relationships (50%) with an emphasis on growth.
  • Meet with customers, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients and architects in the designated territory.
  • Develop and maintain strategic sales plans aligned with corporate and branch goals.
  • Increase market share with existing accounts and develop new accounts within the trading area.
  • Work with the General Manager to negotiate daily and project pricing.
  • Follow up on all quotes in excess of $5,000.
  • Provide feedback to the internal team on pricing and competitive activity.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas for customer base expansion.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
  • Assist in the collection of payments from customers as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field required.
  • 1 year of outside sales experience or equivalent combination of education, project management, or estimating within the architectural glass industry.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with a CRM system and maintaining accurate reporting and call logs.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication to the audience.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated experience in issue identification and resolution.

Nice-to-haves

  • Glazing/Estimating background is helpful.
  • Familiarity with take-offs from a glass shop.
