American Metals Supply is a growing metals distributor servicing the southeastern part of the USA with offices located in Charlotte, NC. The company was formed by a highly experienced group of people with many years of exposure to the aluminum market. The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for growing the Company's clientele within the Charleston coastal market, which includes Hilton Head to Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas. This position offers a compensation package that includes a base salary of $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year, plus a car allowance. The role requires daily travel within the designated territory, with overnight stays as required. The ideal candidate will be proactive in developing and increasing sales revenue to meet assigned goals, resulting in consistent territory growth. This position is crucial for maintaining customer relationships and ensuring that the company meets its sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned goals resulting in consistent territory growth.
  • Communicates the necessary actions needed to earn new business.
  • Follows up on proposals and negotiates as needed.
  • Must be an expert with respect to pricing levels, competition, and industry standards/requirements.
  • Aggressively pursue new leads and opportunities.
  • Maintains customer files daily through the Customer Resource Manager (CRM).
  • Keeps informed of new products, services, and other general information of interest to customers.
  • Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of attaining customers.
  • Troubleshoots problems regarding products provided.
  • Answers questions from customers and handles complaints.
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2 years of construction/building materials sales experience.
  • Industrial metal knowledge a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
