The Outside Sales Representative at Eagle Fence Distributing LLC is responsible for selling a wide range of products distributed by the company. In this role, the representative will develop a comprehensive knowledge of the products offered by Eagle Fence Distributing LLC. They will ensure timely responses to customer inquiries and maintain up-to-date product information, pricing, and lead lists to enhance sales activities. Building and maintaining relationships with both existing and new customers is crucial, and cold calling will be a necessary part of the job. The representative will independently provide product quotes, manage orders, and communicate customer expectations to ensure delivery schedules are met. Additionally, the Outside Sales Representative will collaborate with branch management to optimize loading and packaging techniques, assist other sales team members, and participate in department sales meetings. They will also be responsible for understanding market competition, assisting in sales forecasts, and striving to meet sales objectives. The role includes a focus on growing the number of accounts in the assigned region and increasing customer retention. The representative will also be tasked with selling excess inventory items to reduce waste and will need to troubleshoot with internal teams to enhance customer satisfaction. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and the ability to learn proprietary software is required, along with a willingness to travel for trade shows and customer meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of the products distributed by Eagle Fence Distributing LLC.
  • Ensure timely response to customer inquiries.
  • Maintain product information and prices, call lists, and lead lists to enhance sales activities based on current information.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and develop relationships with new customers; cold calling will be required.
  • Provide product quotes with pricing and availability independently to foster growth and profitability.
  • Perform order management to ensure customer expectations are communicated and delivery schedules are met.
  • Work with branch management teams to choose efficient loading and packaging techniques and delivery methods to minimize waste and fulfill the needs of the customer.
  • Assist other sales team members as necessary by answering customer inquiries for other members of the sales team.
  • Attend all department sales meetings, as scheduled, and participate in other activities as requested.
  • Understand and report on industry and market competition and assist in regular review of inventory levels.
  • Assist in sales forecast activities and strive to meet sales objectives.
  • Responsible for growing the number of accounts in your assigned region.
  • Responsible for increasing customer retention.
  • Sell excess or secondary inventory items through established customer contacts and sales techniques to reduce product waste and unsatisfactorily high inventory levels.
  • Troubleshoot with internal cross-functional teams to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products and able to learn proprietary programs for daily housekeeping items, proposals, and presentations.
  • Willing to travel to attend and promote Eagle Fence Distributing at industry trade shows and to meet new and existing customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Sales experience is a must with a track record of success.
  • Experience in the fence industry is a plus but not required; willing to train someone with relatable skills.
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle and pass a company drug screen.
