About the position

We are Energy Systems, the leader in industrial power solution sales, service, and rentals. With an ongoing tradition of providing excellent products and outstanding service for our customers, Energy Systems is one of the longest existing Generac Industrial Distributors in the United States. We are a full-service distributor of Generac equipment and solutions providing sales, service and rentals. The Regional Sales Manager develops and maintains an assigned Energy Systems sales territory. The Regional Sales Manager has the responsibility to develop and execute a territory management plan that can encompass reactive (bid market) and/or proactive (negotiated business) relationships to grow and achieve territory sales objectives. This role acts as the primary customer contact and territory owner; building and managing relationships, executing on new growth strategies and capturing market share. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include developing and executing a territory management plan, developing new customer accounts, strengthening account relationships to grow product sales, conducting market research, analyzing the competitive landscape to identify opportunities, acting as the primary sales resource to customers, and facilitating successful project outcomes. The Regional Sales Manager will work with clients to develop programs and promotional opportunities to increase sales, manage information to key internal personnel from customer systems, and manage key sales activity and opportunity information in CRM/ERP. Regular communication with the Sales Leader is essential, as is providing voice of the customer feedback. The role also requires maintaining and growing knowledge of product offerings and value proposition, providing feedback and recommendations on processes to improve profitability and the customer experience, and engaging with marketing resources to introduce new products and programs to increase market share and brand awareness. Other duties may be assigned as directed by the sales leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of successful sales territory development experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to execute a territory management strategy, sales discipline and sales best practices
  • Active listener with effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to uncover needs and articulate our value proposition
  • Ability to evaluate our competitive position and interpret metrics to convert them to actionable objectives
  • A self-starter with initiative and vision; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Adept at adjusting to changing environments, processes and market conditions.
