About the position

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for engaging with independent stores to sell products, secure new item authorizations, and promote sales through various merchandising activities. This role involves following monthly priorities set by business managers, entering turnover orders for stores, and coordinating store events such as anniversaries and new openings.

Responsibilities

• Visit the assigned stores in the territory monthly.
• Present new items for clients and secure orders.
• Present promotional activity to store buyers and secure orders and off-shelf displays.
• Access distribution on existing items to ensure they are being carried.
• Assist in any merchandising needed for products.
• Maintain current knowledge of products and new items.
• Maintain rapport with regional managers of clients.
• Keep all informed of issues with stores, competitive activity, and trends.
• Maintain full distribution and display of products in assigned accounts.
• Rotate stock, clean and stock display, and price merchandise as appropriate.
• Check date codes and ensure adherence to approved plan-o-gram.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Two years prior related retail experience required.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a car for extended periods.
• Must be willing and able to work in extremely cold conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores).
• Must be able to effectively communicate with others.
• Must be able to speak and hear.
• Must be able to walk, stoop, kneel, reach, pull, grasp and stand on a daily basis.
• Must have good vision and dexterous use of both hands.
• Must be able to operate a calculator, telephone, copier, and case cutter.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
