About the position

The Outside Sales Representative at Dalton Wholesale Floors of Gordon County, Inc. is a pivotal role focused on increasing sales through the development and maintenance of relationships with potential clients. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying prospective customers, following up on sales leads, and nurturing existing customer relationships. The representative will work primarily in the Chattanooga, TN area, engaging with various professional clients including builders, contractors, restoration companies, architects, and real estate agents. The role emphasizes the importance of brand awareness, which can be enhanced through participation in trade and community events. In this role, the representative will be expected to work with a sense of urgency, multitasking effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments in various settings—whether in the showroom, at a client’s home, virtually, or in the field. The representative will also attend industry meetings and events, such as those organized by the Builder Association, Kitchen & Bath Association, and Chamber of Commerce, to foster relationships and promote the company’s offerings. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and possess a strong emphasis on customer service and teamwork. They must demonstrate excellent closing skills and the ability to ask for the sale while overcoming objections. The role requires a minimum of two years of sales experience, preferably in flooring, cabinets, or countertops, along with exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. The representative will also need to be adept at using various tools and technology, including CRM software, to manage customer interactions and sales processes effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients to increase sales.
  • Identify prospective customers and follow up on potential sales leads.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers to ensure continued business.
  • Increase brand awareness by participating in trade and community events.
  • Work with pro customers to identify their flooring, cabinet, and countertop needs.
  • Schedule appointments with Pro Customers in various settings including showrooms, homes, and virtually.
  • Attend industry meetings and events to network and promote the company.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and teamwork in all interactions.
  • Utilize strong closing skills to ask for sales and overcome objections.

Requirements

  • Two years of sales experience, preferably in flooring, cabinets, or countertops.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, and electronic).
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
