About the position

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for leading the customer acquisition process, focusing on generating new leads and closing sales within the South Bay - Santa Cruz territory. This role involves maintaining existing accounts, developing new business opportunities, and achieving targeted sales goals while providing excellent customer service and collaborating with the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the entire customer acquisition process from lead generation to closing.
  • Identify new leads by cold calling restaurants and food service providers, utilizing social media and journals to find restaurant openings, and leveraging networking contacts.
  • Achieve targeted sales volume and revenue goals each quarter by increasing sales within an assigned geographical territory.
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts while developing new business opportunities and expanding product sales.
  • Monitor customer performance regularly, ensuring all customer data is updated and accurate.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to ensure accounts in the territory are managed profitably and professionally.
  • Draft routine reports and correspondence as needed.
  • Consistently meet deadlines across daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries promptly and offering solutions to any issues.
  • Share accurate produce and product information, reflecting current market trends and seasonal changes.
  • Navigate pricing structures, conduct competitive analysis, and manage negotiations skillfully.
  • Work closely with sales and operations teams to support the company's growth initiatives.
  • Uphold a high level of integrity, promoting a positive company image internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Over 3 years of successful sales experience in retail, wholesale, or food service, with a strong ability to generate leads independently.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written).
  • Ability to thrive under pressure with shifting priorities.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid CA Driver's License with a clean driving record and proof of insurance.
