About the position

Polar Service Centers (PSC) is seeking an Outside Sales Professional to join our team, representing the company in a territory that includes Bakersfield, North Los Angeles, and the High Desert area. This position is crucial for maintaining and developing relationships with our customers while promoting our extensive range of parts and service offerings. The ideal candidate will utilize the latest technology, including a nationwide parts pricing system and tablet-based inspections, to provide the highest level of service in the tank trailer industry. The role offers a base salary plus uncapped commission, with the potential to earn between $60,000 and $125,000 annually, depending on performance. The position requires extensive daily travel, with overnight stays possible as needed. Onsite training will be provided to ensure a smooth introduction to our customers and the services we offer. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for actively visiting customers, developing and maintaining relationships, and maximizing sales profitability. You will also assist the accounts receivable department in collecting delinquent payments and document customer visits promptly. Continuous education on all products sold by Polar Service Centers is essential, as is collaboration with Parts and Branch leadership to optimize delivery schedules and ensure outstanding service to our customers. Accuracy and up-to-date information on customer accounts will be a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Actively visit, develop and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Promote and develop all facets of parts and service business with customers.
  • Maximize sales with customers at the highest possible levels of profitability.
  • Maximize the breadth of products sold by Polar Service Centers.
  • Assist the accounts receivable department in the collection of delinquent payments.
  • Document customer visits in the system within 24 hours of the visit.
  • Engage in continuous education of all products sold by Polar Service Centers.
  • Work with Parts and Branch leadership to develop delivery schedules that optimize the use of PSC delivery trucks and ensure outstanding service to customers.
  • Ensure all customer account information is accurate and up to date.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of demonstrated successful sales experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of professional selling techniques and target market establishment related to product lines.
  • Ability to continually seek and develop new customers.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-confidence to address controversial issues.
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated.
