About the position

Pacific Point Health Care Services is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our team in San Diego, CA. As part of a multi-state corporation experiencing significant growth, this role is crucial in supporting our mission to increase referrals and admissions through relationship development with referral partners in the professional medical community, including hospitals, physician offices, and long-term care facilities. The Sales Representative will develop, implement, and evaluate a market-specific territory plan, acting as a liaison between Pacific Point Home Health and referral partners. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of patients and their families while promoting exceptional healthcare services. In this role, you will be responsible for increasing patient referrals and admissions in your assigned territory by effectively marketing our services to hospitals, physician offices, and long-term care facilities. You will meet individual and team admission goals, initiate and maintain trusting relationships with existing and potential referral sources, and utilize market data to develop a strategic approach for your region. This includes identifying key accounts, determining visit frequency, and managing call rotations. You will also support initiatives that impact referral and admission development, enhance sales efforts by providing input into the development of new tools and messaging, and build relationships with hospice teams through participation in interdisciplinary group meetings. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying referral-related issues, staying knowledgeable about hospice regulatory requirements, and presenting educational opportunities related to end-of-life care. Your role will involve strategic budget utilization, reporting expenses, and collaborating with field clinicians or clinical managers to strengthen relationships within the medical community. You will also participate in compliance activities and perform all duties in alignment with the organization's mission and values. Responsibilities

  • Increase patient referrals/admissions in assigned territory by marketing services to hospitals, physician offices, and long-term care facilities.
  • Meet individual and team admission goals.
  • Initiate, build, and maintain trusting relationships with existing and potential referral sources.
  • Utilize market data to develop a strategy for the region, including identification of A, B & C accounts, referral sources, visit frequency, and call rotation.
  • Complete routing plan and utilize data to organize and manage the region, drive strategy, and report progress.
  • Support initiatives that impact referral & admission development.
  • Enhance sales efforts by providing input into the development of new tools and messaging to external audiences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with respective hospice teams through attendance and participation in IDG meetings and other team activities as appropriate.
  • Act as a liaison between external and internal customers.
  • Identify referral-related issues and perform follow-up.
  • Remain knowledgeable of hospice regulatory requirements and stay abreast of laws and regulations impacting referral partners' use of hospice services.
  • Identify educational opportunities relative to end-of-life care; assist with coordinating or delivering educational presentations to referral partners.
  • Support community outreach opportunities as appropriate.
  • Present features and benefits of hospice services, highlighting differentiators, asking probing questions, listening to service issues, handling objections, and asking for the business.
  • Utilize budget strategically and report expenses.
  • Joint market with field clinicians or clinical managers to leverage and build relationships with the medical community.
  • Create physician-to-physician marketing plan to leverage Medical Directors in building relationships with community physicians.
  • Participate in and support the organization's compliance activities and report issues related to compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement of 18.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related degree preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive sales results, excellent communication, and professional practices.
  • Understanding of hospice philosophy and principles of death/dying.
  • Valid Driver's license and automobile insurance that is in accordance with state and/or Pacific Point Healthcare requirements.
  • May be required to satisfy a criminal background, alcohol, and drug check.
