About the position

As an Outside Sales Representative at Associated Equipment Sales, you will play a crucial role in supporting our growing company based in Wichita, KS. This position is designed for a friendly, organized, and experienced sales professional who is eager to provide technical support and inspired sales to Engineers, Contractors, and Owners. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and manage multiple high-value projects, focusing on a range of products including Boilers, Chillers, Air Handling Equipment, Cooling Towers, and Pumps. In this role, you will collaborate closely with local engineers, contractors, and owners to secure projects, ensuring that you maintain strong relationships with both AES manufacturers and clients. You will be tasked with making product selections for equipment and providing accurate quotes to clients using AES quoting software. A key aspect of your job will involve reading and understanding construction drawings, schedules, and specifications to effectively communicate project details. Additionally, you will work alongside the accounting department and assigned AES project managers to set up projects, create purchase orders, and invoice projects. Timely updates to clients on project statuses will be essential, as will tracking multiple projects and providing shipment information. You will also coordinate field service activities to ensure proper start-up and owner training, making your role integral to the success of our operations and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with local engineers, contractors, and owners to secure projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with AES manufacturers and clients.
  • Make product selections for equipment and provide quotes to clients.
  • Utilize AES quoting software for quotations.
  • Read and understand construction drawings, schedules, and specifications.

  • Provide accurate and timely updates to clients on AES projects.

Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service and follow-up traits.
  • Experience in HVAC or technical outside sales is desired.
  • College degree - Engineering preferred but not required.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Must be punctual and accountable.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage.
  • Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
