About the position

McKay NAPA Auto Parts is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Outside Sales Representative to join our family-owned business in Litchfield, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for developing meaningful business relationships with a diverse range of customers. Your primary focus will be on daily sales calls and account management within a designated market, where you will have the flexibility to tailor sales programs to meet the unique needs of each customer. This position is crucial for supporting store success by working towards common sales goals, participating in team meetings, and sharing valuable customer insights. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be expected to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue by developing strong relationships with customers. You will monitor customer needs and collaborate with the Store Manager and Regional Manager to identify new product or program opportunities that add value to the customer relationship. Your responsibilities will include presenting new products, programs, and services, while serving as the primary contact for customers. You will need to listen actively, ask questions, take notes, and address customer needs promptly. Additionally, you will be tasked with troubleshooting customer sales/service questions and problems, making cold calls to generate new sales, and providing training to customers on utilizing ProLink effectively. Maintaining a professional appearance and strong product knowledge of auto parts, warranties, promotions, and sales programs will be essential to your success in this role. You will also support store success by understanding financial objectives and quotas, actively participating in team meetings, and assisting with store operations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop meaningful business relationships with a wide variety of customers.
  • Monitor customer needs and work with Store Manager and Regional Manager to identify new product or program opportunities.
  • Present new products, programs, and services, tailoring approach to individual customers.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, addressing their needs quickly.
  • Make cold calls to generate new sales opportunities.
  • Provide training to customers on utilizing ProLink effectively.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge of auto parts, warranties, promotions, and sales programs.
  • Understand store financial objectives and work towards achieving these targets.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Assist Customer Service Associates and Drivers in resolving issues to meet customer service expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Proficient in current technologies, including Microsoft Word.
  • Industry experience is a plus.
