About the position

The Outside Sales Specialist at SPEC Building Materials Corporation is responsible for maintaining customer relationships, growing product sales, and developing new accounts. This role requires a professional image and the ability to aggressively promote and sell the entire SPEC product line while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting for new accounts through cold calling, providing leads, and networking.
  • Meeting and exceeding predetermined sales goals.
  • Maintaining an existing customer base with excellent customer service.
  • Understanding and advising customers on products and services offered by SPEC Building Materials.
  • Maintaining good relationships with valued vendors.
  • Demonstrating and practicing excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively with little supervision.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Current and valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Two years of industry or industry-related experience in home building or remodeling is a plus.
  • At least two years of outside sales experience, preferably in the building material distribution industry.
