About the position
The Outside Telecom Sales Representative role at PenTeleData focuses on generating new sales opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing customers in the Berks County market. This position combines remote work with field and office responsibilities, requiring a proactive approach to lead generation and customer engagement. The successful candidate will be instrumental in achieving sales goals and expanding the company's service portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Heavy new lead generation via phone, email, and face-to-face encounters.
- Generating new sales opportunities and introducing our expanded service portfolio to existing customers.
- Achieving a monthly sales quota and providing projections based on a sales funnel.
- Creating opportunities and documenting milestones in our CRM.
- Preparing quotes and contracts for in-person presentation.
- Working closely with other departments to provide the best solution to meet customer needs.
- Building relationships with Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development groups, and other community-centered organizations.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
- BA/BS Degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Residency in Pennsylvania and ability to come into the Palmerton office as required.
- Valid PA Driver's License and good driving record.
- Previous experience in Sales.
- Previous experience in the Telecommunications Field.
- Familiarity with the Berks County and surrounding area.
- A good working knowledge of desktop computer applications.
- A good working knowledge of networking and using the internet.
- An understanding of the technology behind Wi-Fi, routers, and switches recommended.
- An understanding of telephony technology including SIP, POTS, PRI, and hosted voice solutions recommended.
- An understanding of Ethernet networking and WAN recommended.
- An understanding of Cable Modems recommended.
- Exceptional lead generation skills (cold calling, canvassing, networking).
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
- Negotiation and project strategy skills.
