About the position

The Outside Territory Sales Manager for Michigan and Ohio at Charles River Apparel Inc. is a pivotal role focused on driving profitable sales growth within the designated territory. This position requires a proactive approach to managing and nurturing relationships with existing customers while also seeking out new business opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining strong connections with current clients to foster business growth and satisfaction, as well as creating new sales avenues through leads generated by the company or other sources. In this role, the Outside Territory Sales Manager will be expected to plan and execute regular structured sales visits, particularly focusing on strategic accounts. Achieving minimum quarterly and annual meeting targets is essential. The role involves making presentations to both existing and potential customers, utilizing consultative selling techniques to recommend solutions that meet client needs. The manager will also be responsible for following internal processes, including marketing service requests for sales collateral, and ensuring that all agreed-upon solutions are executed accurately and in a timely manner. Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction is crucial, which involves consistent communication with clients and thorough documentation of all sales activities in Salesforce. The Outside Territory Sales Manager will need to maintain subject matter expertise on all products and services offered by Charles River Apparel, providing valuable feedback to the design team regarding product performance and suggestions for improvements. Additionally, the role supports new product launches by promoting them to potential customers. This position requires significant travel, approximately 4 to 5 days per week, to effectively manage the territory and meet sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to grow and nurture existing business.
  • Create new business and sales growth via leads identified by the lead generator or other sources.
  • Proactively plan and execute regular structured sales visits within assigned territory, focusing on Strategic accounts.
  • Make presentations to existing and potential customers and apply consultative selling techniques.
  • Follow internal process requests, including marketing services requests for all sales collateral needs.
  • Execute all agreed to solutions with customers, including accurate, timely forecasting and detailed follow through.
  • Maintain contact with all clients to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Consistently and accurately document all sales activities and details in Salesforce.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise on all products and services offered by Charles River Apparel.
  • Provide feedback to the design team regarding product success and suggestions for improvement.
  • Support new product and line launches by promoting to new or potential customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or prior industry sales experience.
  • Proven track record of selling success with an ability to adapt to dynamic market segments.
  • 5+ years of direct sales experience required, focusing on sales development and relationships.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and numbers-driven environment while being a creative problem solver.
  • Willingness to travel 4-5 days per week throughout the region, with frequent overnight travel required.
  • Position requires constant lifting and handling of product line.
