The Outsourced Controller position at Bowers CPAs & Advisors involves providing high-level accounting services, including month-end reviews, financial reporting, and analysis. The role requires overseeing outsourced accounting staff and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions for various clients. This position is integral to the Client Accounting and Advisory Services department, focusing on delivering strategic financial solutions to private and closely held businesses.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage responsibilities of assigned outsourced accounting staff.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of all transaction processing performed by staff.
• Perform monthly accounting reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts for assigned clients.
• Manage month-end close for assigned clients.
• Prepare and analyze financial reporting.
• Assist in preparing proposals for Client Accounting & Advisory Services.
• Participate in client networking events.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Accounting.
• 5 years experience in Client Accounting Services/Consulting with an accounting firm.
• 2+ years supervisory experience.
• 5 years' experience with budgets, financial modeling, and accounting transactions.
• Client-facing experience with the ability to travel and support local clients.
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a CPA firm environment.
• Familiarity with financial statement preparation and analysis.
