About the position

Valley Health Eye Specialists in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley is seeking a highly skilled cataract and anterior segment surgeon to join our outstanding practice. This is a remarkable opportunity for an ophthalmologist who is passionate about delivering high-quality, outcome-driven eye surgery. The current cataract surgeon operates six days per month, providing a high volume of surgical cases. While fellowship training is desired, it is not a strict requirement. You will be joining a compassionate and cohesive group of experienced, board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologists who specialize in comprehensive ophthalmology, standard and premium cataract surgery, pediatric ophthalmology, and adult strabismus. Our team also has interests in glaucoma, plastics, and neuro-ophthalmology, and we closely collaborate with retina specialists within the hospital community. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice medical and surgical ophthalmology exclusively, as the administrative, governmental, HR, and financial aspects of the practice are managed by competent and ethical professionals. Responsibilities

  • Perform cataract and anterior segment surgeries at a high volume.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced ophthalmologists.
  • Participate in teaching and leadership opportunities within the practice.
  • Manage medical and surgical ophthalmology cases exclusively.
  • Work closely with retina specialists in the community.

Requirements

  • Board certification in ophthalmology.
  • Fellowship training in cataract or anterior segment surgery preferred but not required.
  • Experience in MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery) is helpful but not mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus.
  • Interest in glaucoma, plastics, and neuro-ophthalmology.
