About the position

The Oven Operator is responsible for coordinating the activities of cooking ovens during the 3rd shift, ensuring efficient operation and quality control of meat processing. This role involves setting up, loading, and programming ovens, maintaining production records, and collaborating with supervisors to enhance production methods and equipment performance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of the cooking ovens during 3rd shift.
  • Set up, load, empty, and program ovens for specified products.
  • Handle meat racking for oven preparation.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Assist supervisors with paperwork and analyze work problems.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
  • Arrange racks in chill boxes to maximize capacity.
  • Swap out temperature recording charts and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Inspect meat after processing to ensure quality meets customer specifications.
  • Check temperature of meat before use.
  • Communicate with drivers and supervisors to ensure a constant flow of supplies.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and follow directions.
  • Adhere to all quality and safety guidelines.
  • Lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience operating cooking ovens in a production environment.
  • Ability to maintain production records and assist with paperwork.
  • Knowledge of meat processing quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
