About the position

The Overdraft Services Clerk I plays a crucial role in providing administrative and customer service support for overdraft services at Woodforest National Bank. This position involves processing requests related to overdraft functions, ensuring accuracy in documentation, and maintaining effective communication with both branch personnel and customers. The role is integral to the bank's commitment to serving its community and enhancing customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Answers general department phone extension and monitors assigned functional inboxes to provide customer service support on overdraft services related questions, requests, and inquiries.
  • Reviews, balances, and processes assigned department reports, lists, and spreadsheets.
  • Processes incoming forms and requests; reviews paperwork for accuracy, determines if the account qualifies for requested actions, and updates appropriate banking systems.
  • Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years banking or financial services experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with 10 key by touch and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint portal sites).
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate banking software applications and systems (Bancline, TellerPlus, Mozart).
  • Excellent organizational and data entry skills with the ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service orientation with effective problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of banking policies and procedures related to privilege pay, charge offs settlements, take charge agreements, bankruptcy, and account chargebacks.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
