About the position

The Overhaul Material Handling Tech plays a crucial role in the logistics and management of materials within CCI Industrial Services. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, logging, tagging, and staging materials to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently. The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols, including being trained and certified in hazardous materials handling. In addition to material handling, the technician will be involved in loading and offloading trucks and vans, processing incorrect and damaged materials, and maintaining accurate inventory records through both physical and electronic means. The technician will also ensure the timely transportation and delivery of materials to end users, operate various forklifts and warehouse equipment, and assist with daily procurement operations, including issuing purchase orders and coordinating shipping of orders. The role may also involve performing general office and administrative duties to support management and staff as needed. The Overhaul Material Handling Tech must be able to recognize non-standard conditions and communicate effectively with supervisory staff to propose solutions. The position requires basic mathematical and mechanical skills, as well as proficiency in computer programs. The technician will be expected to maintain a clean and safe worksite, contributing to the overall housekeeping needs of the shops and worksites. This role is essential for ensuring that all materials are handled properly and that the work environment remains safe and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, log, tag, and stage materials.
• Ensure a safe work environment.
• Load and offload trucks and vans.
• Process incorrect and damaged materials.
• Input transactions into computer systems.
• Maintain accurate inventory through physical and electronic means.
• Ensure transportation/delivery of all materials to end users as required.
• Operate various forklifts and manually operated warehouse equipment.
• Climb ladders and stairs to access materials.
• Perform other labor functions and duties as assigned.
• Maintain a safe, clean worksite and contribute to housekeeping needs.
• Assist with daily procurement operations, including issuing purchase orders and coordinating shipping of orders.
• Provide status updates for current orders.
• Assist in loading and unloading of material and equipment for mobilization.
• Know and follow HSE policies and procedures that apply to work.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NSTC card.
• A valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Automotive certifications is preferred.
• Previous welding experience is preferred.
