About the position

The Overnight Camp Photographer/Digital Media Coordinator at Camp Kupugani is a unique opportunity to work in a multicultural overnight summer camp for children aged 7 to 15. This role involves capturing and processing images and videos that reflect the camp's mission of diversity and community building. The position requires a dynamic and creative individual who is passionate about youth development and can effectively communicate the camp's values through digital media. The role includes pre-camp training and spans from June 22 to August 2, 2025, with responsibilities that extend to social media management and marketing materials creation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Camp Kupugani is projected positively in all media.
• Capture and process images and videos of campers and activities.
• Daily edit, save, and upload photos and videos.
• Upload images to a third-party web service nightly.
• Create session slideshows from the best daily photos.
• Update camp social media platforms with content.
• Script, film, and edit short marketing videos.
• Compile memory DVDs for each camp session.
• Create memory books for each session.
• Assist in recommending changes to marketing materials.
• Coordinate the use of camp digital recording tools.
• Maintain and care for equipment and supplies.
• Assist administrators and offer services to other areas of camp as needed.

Requirements

• Experience with digital still and video cameras.
• Computer literacy with Windows and editing programs.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work long hours in a camp environment.
• Emotional resiliency and critical thinking skills.
• Passion for youth development and community building.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a diverse community.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in photo manipulation and editing software.
