About the position

As a Team Lead within our Content Moderation team at TikTok, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our platform. This position is part of the U.S. Data Security (USDS) division, which focuses on data protection policies and content assurance protocols to safeguard U.S. users. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team of content safety agents who review user-generated content to ensure compliance with established community guidelines. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining a safe environment for TikTok users, as you will be reviewing content that can often be graphic or sensitive in nature. You will be responsible for managing daily team activities, ensuring that all assigned tasks are executed efficiently and effectively. This includes overseeing work distribution, planning capacity, and handling escalations as they arise. You will also conduct weekly reviews for management on key deliverables, ensuring that the team meets its Service Level Agreements (SLA) and production targets. Your ability to communicate effectively with employees and leadership at all levels will be essential in achieving the business unit's goals and objectives. The position is full-time and based in Nashville, TN, following a hybrid work model that requires employees to work in the office three days a week. This role involves continuous exposure to user-generated content, which may include bullying, hate speech, child abuse, sexual assault, and other sensitive topics. Therefore, resilience and a commitment to self-care are vital to manage the emotional demands of the role. Responsibilities

  • Review trust and safety related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage daily team activities and ensure smooth daily operations, including work distribution and handling escalations.
  • Conduct weekly reviews for management on key deliverables.
  • Review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with TikTok's Community Guidelines.
  • Audit agents' work for accuracy.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required by the Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; BA/BS preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience leading teams, preferably in a contact center environment.
  • Good judgment and a high level of confidence.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills (written and oral).
  • Experience with investigating and reviewing digital content is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a high-tempo environment and adapt to day-to-day challenges.
