About the position

The Overnight LVN/LPN position at Center For Discovery is a critical role within our residential treatment program for individuals struggling with eating disorders. This position is designed for compassionate and dedicated nursing professionals who are committed to providing high-quality care to our residents. The Overnight LVN/LPN will assist and support residents throughout their entire treatment experience, from admission to discharge. This includes facilitating therapeutic groups, providing clear and complete documentation of client interactions, and ensuring that all medical needs are met in a timely manner. In this role, the LVN/LPN will communicate observations and insights to the treatment team, which includes therapists, dietitians, psychiatrists, and facility administrators. This collaboration is essential to ensure that each client's issues are comprehensively addressed. The Overnight LVN/LPN will also introduce new clients to their fellow residents and the treatment staff, orienting them to the rules, expectations, and daily treatment schedule. The position requires availability for consultation after hours, with a commitment to returning telephone calls or pages within a ten-minute timeframe. Responsibilities also include administering prescribed medications, counting narcotics daily, performing primary first aid, and consulting with physicians to ensure appropriate medical interventions are in place. The Overnight LVN/LPN will meet with each client daily to complete assessments and administer all prescription medications. This is a full-time position, requiring three overnight shifts per week from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating therapeutic groups

  • Counting narcotics daily and logging appropriately
  • Providing assessments of medical problems as needed

  • Consulting with the physician and psychiatrist to ensure appropriate medical interventions
  • Meeting with each client, completing a daily assessment, and administering all prescription medication

Requirements

  • Completion of a LVN/LPN or equivalent
  • Holds a current LVN/LPN license in good standing or equivalent
  • One year experience preferred working in mental health or eating disorders field
  • Blood draw certificate preferred
  • Must possess a current Driver's License in good standing
