About the position

The Overnight Shipping/Receiving Assistant at McLane Company, Inc. is responsible for maintaining and updating department files and reports, assisting internal departments with documentation and support, and ensuring that shipments match the orders. This role is essential for the smooth operation of the distribution center, particularly during the overnight shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain schedule of incoming & outgoing shipments.
• Receive purchase orders, print pallet tags, and work closely with buyers, vendors, and carriers.
• Communicate receipts of all products timely to appropriate leaders.
• Communicate no call, no shows, and rescheduled shipments.
• Inspect shipments to ensure they are free of damages.
• Verify shipments per order requirements.
• Label shipments prior to loading.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 or more years work experience, preferably in the distribution industry.
• Experience with Microsoft Office systems.
