About the position

The Overnight Shipping/Receiving Assistant plays a crucial role in the logistics and distribution operations at McLane Company. This position is responsible for maintaining schedules of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate receipt of purchase orders, and communicating effectively with various stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment during overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain schedule of incoming & outgoing shipments.
• Receive purchase orders and print pallet tags.
• Work closely with buyers, vendors, and carriers to ensure proper receipt of orders.
• Communicate receipts of all products to appropriate leaders.
• Report no call, no shows, and rescheduled shipments promptly.
• Inspect shipments for damages and verify them against order requirements.
• Label shipments prior to loading.
• Assist other internal departments as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 or more years of work experience, preferably in the distribution industry.
• Experience with Microsoft Office systems.
