About the position

As an Overnight Support Specialist at IP Pathways, you will be an integral part of our Tier-1 Support team, providing first-level technical support to our customers. This role is designed for individuals who are self-starters with excellent communication skills and a passion for technology. You will primarily interact with IT professionals and end-users, ensuring that their technical issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. The position requires you to work overnight shifts, specifically from Sunday to Wednesday, providing support during critical hours when our clients need assistance the most. In this role, you will be responsible for patching systems and monitoring backups, addressing any related issues that arise. You will respond to client system tickets, escalating them as necessary to on-call engineers to ensure timely resolution. Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction is paramount, and you will continuously strive for improvement in service delivery. Additionally, you will support and maintain our data center networks, providing technical support for our full product suite, which includes a variety of IT solutions tailored to meet our clients' needs. Responsibilities

  • Patch systems and monitor backups, addressing related issues.
  • Respond to client system tickets, escalating as necessary to on-call engineers.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and continuously strive for improvement.
  • Support and maintain our data center networks.
  • Provide technical support for our full product suite.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience supporting or implementing technology solutions.
  • Experience or exposure to networking and system infrastructure (servers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems and command-line tools (bash, vim, etc.).
  • Experience with Windows patching using automated systems and manual management via Windows Update.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of Windows Operating System issues.
  • Knowledge of firewalls and network security devices.
  • Experience with Cisco VoIP, wireless networks, VPN (IPSec, SSL, etc.), load-balancing, and application acceleration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Systems, or relevant IT certifications preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, whitelisting/blacklisting, and VPN setup/troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with server and PC hardware, including component replacement.
