About the position
The Overnight Support Staff at Project HOME plays a crucial role in supporting residents in their recovery and wellness journeys. This position involves maintaining a safe and secure environment, assisting residents in connecting with community resources, and fostering a culture of recovery and peer support. The staff will engage with residents, facilitate community-building activities, and ensure the overall peace and safety of the living environment during overnight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Support residents in achieving their recovery goals and promote successful community living.
- Maintain site health and safety by controlling access and conducting rounds of the building.
- Address urgent and crisis situations using de-escalation strategies.
- Communicate effectively during shift changes and document relevant information in logs.
- Establish and maintain healthy relationships with residents, respecting their unique recovery processes.
- Facilitate recovery and community-building groups and activities as appropriate.
- Assist with kitchen duties, including meal preparation and maintaining cleanliness.
- Monitor medication compliance for residents as per site protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer/technology literacy.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff and residents.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in behavioral health and/or homelessness.
- Certified Peer Specialist Certification.
- Bilingual proficiency.
- Valid Driver's License.
- ServSafe certificate (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
