The Weekender Nursing Manager supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel on all units on the assigned shift, ensuring consistent quality care is provided to all residents/clients. The Nursing Manager also provides physical and psychological support for residents/clients.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of nursing personnel on all units during the assigned shift.
  • Ensure consistent quality care is provided to all residents/clients.
  • Provide physical and psychological support for residents/clients.
  • Engage with employees and residents through making rounds to ensure continuity of care.
  • Identify and respond to changes in residents' conditions promptly.
  • Identify areas to improve services and observe/support employee activity.
  • Ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for staff.
  • Visit new admissions daily and review weekly Skin Integrity Reports with Unit Managers.
  • Collaborate with staff regarding the plan of care and participate in survey inspections.
  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in new employee orientations.
  • Complete performance reviews for Unit Managers and medication pass reviews with staff.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and educational programs.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unencumbered LPN license; RN license preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years full-time or equivalent experience in a Long Term/Acute Care setting with a minimum of two (2) years in a management, supervisory or administrative capacity.
  • IV certified and/or willing to become IV certified within six (6) months in position.
  • CPR certified.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency skills with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Solid working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems.
  • Good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with Time and Attendance software systems is necessary.
  • Ability to cope with frequent interruptions and manage multiple, competing priorities.
