The Weekender Nursing Manager supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel on all units on the assigned shift, ensuring consistent quality care is provided to all residents/clients. The Nursing Manager also provides physical and psychological support for residents/clients.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate activities of nursing personnel on all units during the assigned shift.
- Ensure consistent quality care is provided to all residents/clients.
- Provide physical and psychological support for residents/clients.
- Engage with employees and residents through making rounds to ensure continuity of care.
- Identify and respond to changes in residents' conditions promptly.
- Identify areas to improve services and observe/support employee activity.
- Ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for staff.
- Visit new admissions daily and review weekly Skin Integrity Reports with Unit Managers.
- Collaborate with staff regarding the plan of care and participate in survey inspections.
- Respond to emergency situations and participate in new employee orientations.
- Complete performance reviews for Unit Managers and medication pass reviews with staff.
- Attend mandatory meetings and educational programs.
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unencumbered LPN license; RN license preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years full-time or equivalent experience in a Long Term/Acute Care setting with a minimum of two (2) years in a management, supervisory or administrative capacity.
- IV certified and/or willing to become IV certified within six (6) months in position.
- CPR certified.
- Intermediate computer proficiency skills with Microsoft Office applications.
- Solid working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems.
- Good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with Time and Attendance software systems is necessary.
- Ability to cope with frequent interruptions and manage multiple, competing priorities.
