At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a P-8 SCA Aircraft Mechanic Helper to join our team in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This position is part of a maintenance and sustainment program for the Navy P-8A, which is based on the Boeing 737-800 platform and operates in Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASUW), and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) roles. The role involves performing depot-level operations and is contingent on contract award, with an anticipated start date of October 2024. Additionally, you will read and interpret maintenance manuals and technical data to determine the feasibility and methods for repairing or replacing malfunctioning components. Your duties will also include removing major components from aircraft, inspecting parts for defects, and performing preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections. This role requires a commitment to maintaining schedules and quality standards while ensuring that all work performed is documented accurately. You may also be required to work with jigs, fixtures, and various tooling as operations necessitate, and perform other related duties as assigned.
