About the position

The P&C IT Systems Analyst Lead at USAA plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between IT delivery functions and business operations. This position involves working closely with business partners and IT leadership to modernize and maintain P&C systems, ensuring that technical requirements are met and production issues are resolved effectively. The role emphasizes collaboration, coaching, and process improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity within the Analyst community.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary conduit between IT delivery functions and business functions for technical requirements.
  • Partner with Program Management to understand and drive plans for strategy, transformation, and operations.
  • Ensure readiness of scope, business goals, and objectives prior to project initiation.
  • Deliver coaching, mentoring, and just-in-time training to team members through quality reviews and observation.
  • Collaborate with IT function Architects on road maps and upgrade strategies.
  • Perform high-level analyses on technical topics for pre-project and project topics.
  • Support Project Management and Practice leads with policy, procedures, and governance.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives in support of project strategy efforts.
  • Serve as Voice of the Customer for the Analyst community.
  • Lead innovative opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity for the Analyst role.
  • Identify gaps and provide technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 8 years of experience in business and/or project management, business/system requirements, and technical analysis.
  • Expert knowledge of multiple solution delivery life cycles and Business Management methodologies (Waterfall and Agile).
  • Expert working knowledge of business productivity products, tools, and applications.
  • Domain expert understanding of system architecture and knowledge of solution development concepts.
  • Extensive experience in requirements management, from conception definition to implementation.
  • Extensive experience with modeling techniques (e.g. UML) and use case development.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years' experience in planning, estimating, handling resource demand/forecasting and support of release and rollout plans.
  • 3+ years' experience in Support risk, issue, and dependency management for large scale transformations.
  • 2+ years' experience consulting on technology strategy for financial services companies.
