In this role, you will manage and underwrite a Middle Market book of business, analyzing agency performance on a quarterly basis to identify potential actions. You will expertly apply underwriting guidelines to make informed decisions, demonstrating your capability to handle complex business cases with minimal support. Your thorough knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and governance will be essential as you create and execute strategies for new and renewal accounts. Acting as a trusted advisor to brokers and agents, you will provide solutions that align with their needs and our business objectives. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring you to work in the office or visit agencies three days a week, allowing for flexibility while maintaining strong relationships with our partners.

Responsibilities

• Manages and underwrites a Middle Market book of business.
• Analyzes agency book on a quarter-to-quarter basis for potential action.
• Expertly applies all applicable underwriting guidelines when making decisions.
• Capable of underwriting highly complex business with limited support from senior underwriters.
• Has thorough knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and governance.
• Creates, drives, and executes strategies for new and/or renewal accounts.
• Acts as a trusted advisor and solution provider to brokers and agents.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of P&C Middle Market Broker-facing Carrier Underwriting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with all internal and external business partners.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations, and propose solutions.
• High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills.
