The Renewal Underwriter at Jencap Insurance Services plays a crucial role in maintaining high service levels and responsiveness for current accounts. This position involves underwriting renewal commercial property and casualty (P&C) insurance, ensuring that business is profitable and adheres to company guidelines. The role requires collaboration with agents, brokers, and internal teams to analyze data and make informed underwriting decisions, while also managing a designated territory effectively.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite profitable renewal commercial P&C insurance within authority level.
• Determine the acceptability, quality, and profitability of existing business based on underwriting guidelines.
• Collect, maintain, and analyze data to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Manage assigned territory, ensuring renewals, endorsements, claim reviews, and related transactions are completed accurately and timely.
• Provide professional, timely, and courteous customer service to agents, policyholders, and team members.
• Make recommendations to Senior Underwriter or Supervisor on selected risks beyond assigned authority level.
• Address assigned workload within quality, productivity, and service standards.
• Meet regularly with broker/underwriting teams on strategy and follow-up.
• Participate in special projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of work-related experience in P&C renewal underwriting process.
• Participation in company-organized insurance seminars and workshops.
