P&ID CAD Drafter

About the position

AllSTEM Connections is seeking a skilled P&ID CAD Drafter for a temporary contract position in Savannah, GA. The role involves creating and updating Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) for the chemical and refining manufacturing sectors, requiring substantial industrial experience and proficiency in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze complex Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Prepare a range of P&ID drawings, from simple to advanced.
• Update P&IDs based on as-built data and redline markups.
• Apply knowledge of management systems, ISA, and piping symbols to ensure accuracy.
• Create, modify, and maintain P&ID drawings per drafting standards, incorporating Management of Change (MOC) information such as redlines and comments.
• Conduct facility field verifications as needed to validate accuracy.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of industrial experience in P&ID drafting and walkdowns within chemical and refining sectors.
• Proficient in the current version of AutoCAD and Document Management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering mark-ups and accurately update drawings.
• Experience with field-verifying as-built P&IDs related to project scope, field changes, project closures, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
• Strong knowledge of piping equipment and components in chemical manufacturing, including pumps, compressors, exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, towers, pipelines, valves, control valves, filters, piping codes, and specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoDesk software.
