About the position

The P6 Project Scheduler at Crossland Construction is responsible for creating, updating, and implementing project schedules using Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6. This role requires advanced scheduling experience and strong field knowledge to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget. The scheduler will provide leadership, support, and training, while participating in all aspects of construction planning and scheduling, ensuring adherence to company policies and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating, updating, and implementing project schedules collaboratively with the project team.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support for Crossland's scheduling efforts.
  • Perform schedule reviews to ensure adherence to company procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in all phases of the construction planning and scheduling process, including proposal schedules, CPM schedules, baseline schedules, and ongoing updates.
  • Ensure project schedules adhere to contractual requirements.
  • Make regular visits to job sites to review job status.
  • Attend project-related meetings focused on scheduling.
  • Lead update review meetings with the project team to document potential negative impacts on the project schedule.
  • Provide construction and scheduling program support and training for assigned divisions and job site staff.
  • Maintain a good grasp of local market information affecting project schedules.
  • Ensure all projects have a baseline schedule established prior to construction and create baseline snapshots weekly.
  • Utilize Crossland's uniform template for project schedules, customizing as needed.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Estimating, and Pre-Construction Departments to prepare proposal schedules.
  • Perform detailed critical path analysis for problem projects.
  • Conduct weekly progress updates, monitoring and tracking progress at both detailed and summary levels.
  • Communicate effectively with field staff, office staff, design teams, and clients for accurate schedule development and updates.
  • Identify and communicate schedule risks to Area Superintendents and Division Managers.
  • Analyze potential impacts, deliveries, change orders, and time extensions using coding, labeling, and creating fragnets or time impact analysis.

Requirements

  • Advanced experience with Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6.
  • 5+ years' experience in project controls and CPM scheduling of building construction (preferred).
  • 7+ years' experience in building construction.
  • Knowledge of building construction means and methods, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
  • Ability to read and understand building plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of means and methods of Construction Management.
  • Proficient with computer applications.
  • Proficient in developing resource loading and cost loading.
  • Proficient in analyzing and reporting on project schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to visually identify discrepancies and inaccuracies between the project schedule and job site status.
  • Ability to identify areas of sequencing concern during job site visits.
  • Knowledge of different delivery methods of construction.
  • Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure, Work Activity Sequencing, Activity Durations, Scheduling Concepts, and Best Practices.
