An Account Manager at Applied Controls is an automation-focused, customer-facing outside role that has the primary responsibility of growing sales with our existing customers, generating business with new customers, and improving relationships with the manufacturers that we represent. The Account Manager uses a combination of commercial and technical competence to drive long-term, profitable relationships with our customers with a technical focus on PLCs, robotics, machine vision, safety, motion control, sensing, machine control, and data/visualization. This position requires a proactive approach to sales, emphasizing the importance of understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions that enhance their operations. The role is hybrid, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements while maintaining a strong presence in the field to foster client relationships and drive sales growth. The Account Manager will engage in proactive planning and execution of sales calls and customer visits, ensuring that they maintain an accurate forecast of business potentials with both customers and the manufacturers represented. This includes formal and self-guided product training to ensure a deep understanding of the products offered, as well as product selection to determine compatibility with customer needs. The role also involves quote generation and thorough documentation of the sales process, alongside territory planning and overall business strategy planning to maximize sales opportunities and customer satisfaction.
