About the position

The Package Designer position is a part-time, 4-month contract role focused on consumer product package design, particularly for toy or craft and activity products. The role involves designing and producing retail packaging, product component art, catalogs, and sales support materials, with a requirement for in-office attendance at least once a week in a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce retail packaging and product component art.
• Create catalogs and sales support materials.
• Perform photo retouching and image manipulation.
• Conduct product photography.
• Produce comp versions of packaging.
• Organize and maintain all design files.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a related design or marketing field, including internships.
• Proven track record of visually conveying messages, ideas, or concepts.
• Proficient in graphic design and editing programs, preferably Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• In-depth understanding of the printing process and specifications.
• Expertise in various production/rendering methods including drawing, offset printing, photography, and interactive media.
• Experience in building a visual brand identity and brand packaging design.
• Excellent design, editing, and proofing skills with keen attention to detail.
• Experience and comfort with managing junior team members.
• Strong art direction skills.
• Self-starter and problem-solver with creative thinking abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
