About the position

As a Package Project Manager at SPX Cooling Technologies, you will serve as a technical resource for sales personnel while managing customer service aspects for incoming orders. This role encompasses full cycle project management, including order processing, compliance, and contract review, while also addressing customer feedback and warranty claims. You will be responsible for ensuring on-time shipments, maintaining target margins, and driving quality improvements within the manufacturing process. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, project management expertise, and a solid understanding of HVAC products and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan for delivery and shipments to manage costs and balance customer needs with business financial goals
  • Regularly communicate with major sub-suppliers, manufacturing plant, and SPX internal departments to address project-related issues
  • Review and confirm orders meet Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Manage customer communications, clarifications, and shipment schedules for projects
  • Maintain target margin of orders by managing the change order process and pricing
  • Conduct weekly manufacturing plant visits to ensure proper order execution and implement quality improvements
  • Manage and mitigate risk and maintain accuracy of Hold report
  • Evaluate customer needs and provide technical solutions
  • Support Finance in ensuring timely collection of cash from customers
  • Review and process QMS Parts and warranty claims, investigating root causes and collaborating with teams to rectify issues
  • Manage claims, negotiate back charges, and handle customer returns for quality analysis
  • Initiate and manage vendor purchase orders as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of project or construction management or related customer service experience
  • Experience in accounting, engineering, construction management, and/or supply chain preferred

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic familiarity with HVAC products
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP preferred
  • Project scheduling experience preferred
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Solid base of leadership skills
