About the position

The Packaging Applications Engineer at Amcor plays a crucial role in providing technical support and solutions to customers, enhancing existing products, and supporting new product developments. Responsibilities

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of Amcor products and services and promote to customers.
  • Handle complex customer queries and provide detailed product information.
  • Stay updated on technology changes and trends impacting the healthcare industry.
  • Create and implement qualification and scale-up protocols for growth and specification change actions.
  • Build strong customer relationships by demonstrating a deep understanding of their industry and challenges.
  • Provide expert guidance to solve unique application issues in a timely manner.
  • Focus on customer new product introductions to specify Amcor solutions during early design stages.
  • Reinforce Amcor's value proposition to drive sales growth and customer retention.
  • Understand customer operations to enhance the Amcor Value Proposition through process improvement and value engineering.
  • Schedule and execute product performance and engineering audits to capture quantifiable value for the customer.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure action and resolution to audit findings.
  • Work in partnership with Sales to deliver tailored solutions to accelerate new sales growth.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Marketing to provide feedback on product performance for unique applications.
  • Identify portfolio gaps, product enhancements, and new product ideas with R&D.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering field required.
  • Minimum 5 years technical experience in an engineering, manufacturing process, or field technical role; flexible packaging and thermoforming experience preferred.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong mechanical and technical ability and aptitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to drive execution of plans.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities and success in cross-functional environments.
  • Strong understanding of plant processes and practices.
  • Healthcare market knowledge and exposure is desired.
