About the position

The Packaging Inventory Manager at CooperVision is responsible for supervising and mentoring employees within the Inventory Control department, ensuring that departmental goals align with organizational objectives. This role involves maintaining inventory integrity, preparing and reporting on department performance, and managing interdepartmental interactions to support operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor employees in the Inventory Control department.
  • Maintain ongoing integrity of the inventory through analysis and reconciliation of physical to perpetual inventory.
  • Direct employees on cycle counting, location auditing, researching, data entry, and inventory analysis.
  • Review all inventory adjustments and investigate trends to pinpoint reasons for discrepancies.
  • Analyze the inventory sync report between the ERP system and WM system.
  • Work with financial auditors regarding inventory accuracy and value.
  • Initiate process audits and report results to management with recommendations for improvements.
  • Regularly report to management on project progress, Key Performance Indicators, and daily activities.
  • Responsible for staffing, training, and employee relations to achieve picking and shipping goals.
  • Monitor staff activities and efficiencies, including hiring, discharging, evaluating, and disciplining employees.
  • Maintain employee records regarding attendance, productivity, and quality.
  • Organize regularly scheduled team meetings for department employees.
  • Execute and maintain effective communication within the IC department regarding process changes and performance.
  • Handle multiple tasks independently with precise detail and follow-up reporting.
  • Establish and drive continuous improvement efforts to maximize efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Five+ years' experience in a management capacity.
  • Four to six years of inventory control experience in a high-volume Warehouse/Distribution/Logistics environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, JDA (WMS) and BAAN (ERP) is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in an FDA and ISO regulated environment.
