About The Position

The Packaging Machine Attendant is responsible for monitoring the operation of various production lines to ensure efficient and continuous product packaging. This role involves operating machinery, making minor adjustments, and maintaining quality control throughout the packaging process.

Requirements

• At least 1-year of experience working on high-speed industrial packaging equipment or related manufacturing/industrial experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to detect faulty production and mechanical irregularities.
• Good hand-finger dexterity.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Starts and stops machines and observes for irregularities, making necessary adjustments.
• Reports difficulties and conditions affecting operation to foreman and mechanics.
• Operates Heat Seal Packing Equipment.
• Shuffles and fans containers prior to inserting into feed magazine rack.
• Cleans sugar deposits and wax; removes, cleans, and replaces center guides.
• Checks quality of production and observes flue on bags; fills sealer with glue.
• Cleans machine and oils moving parts as needed.
• Changes heat seal rolls; cleans funnels, irons, etc.
• Opens and places empty bags over funnel of packer and fills using hand lever.
• Operates material handling equipment.
• Adjusts scales or volumetric controls for proper weight or volume of sugar.
• Removes improperly fed or non-desirable packages from line.
• Supplies empty packages as directed.
• Assists in withdrawing and replacing empty containers on conveyor.
• Keeps records of downtime on machinery.
• Performs all jobs in accordance with established safety practices and sanitation standards.
