About the position

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating packaging machines and statistical scales to ensure the efficient packing of quality products at Frito-Lay. This role is crucial to the production of popular snacks like Lay's, Cheetos, and Doritos, and offers opportunities for career advancement within PepsiCo. Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multiple packaging machines to ensure accurate code dates and weights.
• Check that products are dated and sealed with minimal waste.
• Ensure that products to be packed remain clean.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, prioritizing safety.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on packaging machines.
• Wear protective gear when using chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing.
• Inspect conveyors and scales prior to line start-ups and changeovers.
• Troubleshoot common problems and make operational adjustments.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 1 year of machine operator experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs from floor to waist.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in reading and writing in English.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods.
• Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products.
• Willingness to work at heights using ladders or lifts.
