About the position

The Packaging Mechanic is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and repairing packaging equipment and machinery. This role includes supervising mechanical personnel, generating purchase requisitions, and collaborating with management on new project quotations. The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and be proficient in using hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down full line configurations of packaging equipment.
• Repair and maintain packaging equipment and machinery such as capping machines, labeling machines, bagging machinery, palletizers, and wrapping machinery.
• Supervise subordinate mechanical personnel and assist in troubleshooting and training.
• Generate purchase requisitions for materials and parts needed.
• Interact with management to assist in new project quotation generation by providing input on equipment choices, potential capital purchases, improvements, and estimated output.
• Use hand and power tools for various tasks.
• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Follow and provide clear instructions.

Requirements

• Experience with packaging machinery in distribution centers or warehouses.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Independent worker and self-starter.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience with a Preventive Maintenance program.
