About the position

The Packaging Supervisor at American Sugar Holdings, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the packaging department, ensuring efficient production processes, compliance with safety and quality standards, and effective resource management. This role involves leading a team, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high levels of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to meet production and quality standards.
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.
  • Train, coach, and appraise performance of employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Oversee and review all required paperwork, reports, and documentation.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) culture and Lean-Six Sigma principles among production staff.
  • Coordinate production planning with other departments for maintenance and work order completion.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for ongoing improvement of methods and processes.
  • Review and implement programs to comply with safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and initiate work orders for repairs.
  • Maintain completion of quality initiatives such as CAPA Completion and GMP compliance.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years leadership experience in food manufacturing.
  • Ability to direct, coach, and develop a team of 15-20 associates.
  • Strong communication skills to develop relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven decision-making skills regarding resource utilization.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools to enhance Packaging & OEE Performance preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of SAP, Kronos, and Mii preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Food Science, or related field preferred.
